Manasota Keys

I am at the Hermitage Artist Retreat in Manasota Keys in Florida. It is incredible here, and I am getting a lot of work done. Every morning I walk the beach with Maggie, the Turtle Patrol person, as she records loggerhead turtle nesting and hatching. The little turtles are amazing, and I have been taking pictures and drawing. Last night I made turtle inkblots–and put them on a ring to hang on the wall of my studio here like good luck charms.

Maggie, who walks the mile where the Hermitage is, and Denise, who walks the next mile down, are amazing individuals–they walk in rain or shine, every morning from May to November.
