The NYC Arts in Education Roundtable hosted its annual Face to Face conference February 22 and 23rd at the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Queens. I presented a workshop based on and called Inkblot: Drip, Splat and Squish Your Way to Creativity. The following pictures are from the class: I learned a lot from the educators taking the class and got inspired to come home and make inkblots by one participant, Marengely Sanchez, who made a fantastic island nation out of an inkblot–with the whole story of the government of the nation, its commerce, natural resources, holiday island, military.
Other participants had ideas about using the inkblots to make masks, theater sets with paper doll characters, inkblot journals–all fun things to do in the classroom, and none dependent on innate artistic skill.
